Giarnni Regini-Moran has spoken of his joy at winning a silver medal at the European Games in Minsk.

The Dartford gymnast has fought his way back from serious injuries over the last few years and proved his class in the floor final on Sunday.

In a spectacular routine, Regini-Moran hardly moved landing any of his difficult tumbling passes and the judges rewarded him with a score of 14.233.

Regini-Moran said: “This means a lot to me.

"It’s almost three years to the day that I was injured and since then it’s taken a lot of patience and hard work to get back - at points I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to.

"Winning this medal feels very special, I feel like I’m back.”

Elsewhere in the gymnastics, Regini-Moran placed sixth on vault, with Gravesend's Georgia-Mae Fenton fifth on beam.

Fenton was eighth in the women's all-around competition while Regini-Moran was 13th in the men's all-around.
