Dartford boss Tony Burman praised his team's character after their goal fest on Saturday.

The Darts moved back into the National League South play-off places with a 6-1 win over East Thurrock at Princes Park.

It was the perfect response to their New Year's Day defeat against Ebbsfleet.

"Some of the play was excellent," said Burman. "I'm pleased that each time we've had a defeat, we've bounced back.

"That was the aim from last season, to be a bit consistent and we're doing that.

"It was a good result and a great response to losing to Ebbsfleet on New Year's Day.

"There's a good spirit in the camp, we wanted to be consistent this year. If we've lost a game then we've won the next one."

Burman did not think it was Dartford's best performance of the campaign but felt it was their most clinical.

"It's the best spell of finishing we've had in games, I'm not saying it's the best we've played because we've had some good games," he added.

"The scoreline suggests it was one-sided but East Thurrock were always a threat.

"It was enjoyable, especially when you play like we did in the first 45 minutes.

"We had a good start. East Thurrock are a difficult side to play against, they like going forward and played some good football as well.

"The first 45 minutes, especially, the lads were outstanding.

"It's great if you've got one person scoring goals, we all know that. But I've always wanted more than one person to score goals. Slowly but surely that's happening."
