Dartford striker Andy Pugh supports boss Tony Burman's rotation policy

Dartford’s four-man strikeforce need to accept manager Tony Burman’s decision if they don’t make the starting line-up.

Burman has arguably the division’s best forward line to choose from in Alfie Pavey, Andy Pugh, Danny Mills and Duane Ofori-Acheampong.

He shuffled his pack again last weekend, opting to leave Pavey and Mills on the bench.

But if they are to be successful this season, all four players need to cope with the rotation, according to Pugh.

“It’s a great headache for Tony to have, we’re all proven players at this level,” said Pugh. “He can put any of us up there and we will all put in a good shift.

“If you’re going to be involved in good teams, then you need to be willing to sit on the bench or come off and let somebody else have a go.

“All I can do is every session, every game, give it my all and do as well as I can. I want to play my part in the run-in and if all the other strikers do that as well, then we’ll be fine.

“I don’t think we can afford to have anyone who wants to sulk. Tony has to make those decisions, he’s not doing it for personal reasons, he’s doing it because he believes that’s what’s best.”

Pugh hopes last weekend’s win over Hemel Hempstead can be a turning point in Darts’ season.

He said: “The Poole game is part of playing football, there are times when fans get on your back and you have to deal with it as players.

“We dealt with it well and hopefully this can be a turning point for us. It hasn’t affected the dressing room at all.

“We’ve shown signs of being nervy and maybe it’s got to a few people but we’ve got to put that to one side – let’s go and win every single game.”
