New Dartford striker Andy Pugh has no regrets that loan spell was cut short last season after winning FA Trophy with Cambridge United

Andy Pugh is ready to make up for lost time at Dartford next season - after his loan move was cut short in their ill-fated relegation campaign.

Pugh - who signed a one-year deal at Dartford last week - scored twice in four games for the Darts, helping them to victories at Wrexham and Kidderminster, but was recalled by Cambridge boss Richard Money after initially agreeing to extend his spell by two months.

On his return to Cambridge, Pugh went on to play in the FA Trophy final at Wembley and scored four league goals in a home win over Hyde - experiences he would not have swapped even if it meant staying at Princes Park to help the Darts stay up.

"I was enjoying my time at Dartford last season, had scored two goals in four games to keep the scoring ratio going that I aim for, and I was hoping to try and keep them up," said Pugh.

"But I'd never say I regretted going back to Cambridge. I got to play at Wembley, which was a dream of mine, in the FA Trophy final and I was part of the club going back to the Football League.

"There's no way I regretted that, despite not featuring heavily I was still involved and was part of the squad that got Cambridge promoted.

"When I left Welling I joined Cambridge with the ambition of trying to get them back into the Football League. I met some good people there and played under two great managers so I'll never regret that move at all. It was part of my life, I'm not one to look back and regret things anyway, but now I'm happy with a new chapter at Dartford."
