Three barbers from Deal are entering the Spartan Race on Sunday to raise funds for the Pilgrims Hospice.

Lee Wood, Stewart Thorpe and Ryan Wood from the Men's Cutting Room Barbers will travel to Hastings to take on the 12k run which includes 25 challenging obstacles.

It will test their strength, balance, endurance and mental strength.

After spending nine hours on their feet cutting hair, the men have been training most evenings, either at the gym or running, to prepare themselves.

To sponsor them, drop it into The Men's Cutting Room, 1 Queen street, Deal or visit www.justgiving.com/Lee-Ryan-Stew-menscuttingroom

Pick up next week's East Kent Mercury to see how the trio got on.
