Deal and Betteshanger Lions secured a much-needed win in London 2 South East on Saturday beating KCS Old Boys 29-11 at Drill Field.

They overcame the London side to record their second win in five league games.

The Lions opened the scoring after 10 minutes when No.8 Joseph Hinkins charged over after a rolling maul by the pack and Mathew Thomas converted.

The visitors replied with a penalty following a Lions offence at a ruck.

Shortly before half-time, Luke Armstrong received the ball 10 metres inside his own half and set off on a run run that saw him beat four defenders to score wide out on the left and give his side a 12-3 lead at the break.

The Lions put the game beyond doubt 15 minutes from time with two quick tries from Nathan Mitford which were both converted by Thomas to make it 26-3.

KCS replied with a penalty and then added a try after an interception near their own 22 before Thomas kicked a last-gasp penalty.

On Saturday, the 1sts visit Lewes, the 2nds host Medway 2nds, the 4ths
are at home to Ash Vets. All kick-offs 2.30pm
