Children from Bright Sparks with their donated goods for Deal Area Emergency Foodbank

Children from Bright Sparks Child Care Centre have been giving a helping hand to Deal Area Emergency Foodbank.

The preschool, based at Warden House School in Birdwood Avenue, Deal, walked to the depot to deliver their gifts donated by the under fives and their families.

Preschool manager Diane Emptage said: “On the day it was very cold and raining quite hard but that did not dampen their enthusiasm to deliver the food to help children who are not as lucky as they are.

“We were made very welcome and the children helped to unpack the goods from their trolley into a crate to be sorted by the Foodbank volunteers.”

Deal Area Emergency Foodbank works with partner agencies to give non-perishable goods to help people in a crisis. The charity relies on donations, from pasta to puddings, and the DAEF buckets are in supermarkets, churches and Deal Town Hall.
