Woman charged with drink driving after car crashes into bus stop in London Road, Deal

A bus stop was destroyed when a car crashed into it on Sunday.

The smash happened outside the fire station in London Road, Deal at around 10.30pm.

The glass was smashed and the shelter broken.

Police were called to the scene, near to the junction with Albert Road.

The area has been cordoned off but large piles of broken glass still remain and some is scattered across the road.

The stop serves the main route into Deal town centre, including the Stagecoach 15 and 13 bus numbers.

An 18-year-old woman was arrested and later charged with drink driving.

Maisie Ludwig of Walmer, Deal, will appear before magistrates on Wednesday, September 16.
