It is thought to have happened overnight between 9pm Sunday and midday Monday.

Cash was also taken from a takeaway in London Road between 11pm on the same day and 11.30am on Monday.

Sergeant Ian Belsey from Dover Community Safety Unit said: "We are carrying out enquiries to establish whether the two reports might be linked.

"There are steps business owners can take to reduce the chances of being burgled such as removing any cash from their premises overnight and leaving till drawers open to show they are empty."

Any witnesses to either burglary, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage taken in the areas which might assist the investigation is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 16-602 (for Beach Street) or 16-615 (for London Road).

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or using the anonymous online form here.
