Coral bookies in Deal robbed at knifepoint

A woman was threatened with a knife during a terrifying robbery at a bookies last night.

Two men forced their way into the locked Coral building in High Street, Deal, at 9.30pm and demanded cash from the female staff member.

It is thought they fled with as much as £300, but the woman was not hurt.

Police investigating the robbery have released descriptions of the two suspects.

The first is slim and about 6ft. He spoke with a fake Scottish accent, was wearing all black clothing and black gloves and had a black stocking over his head.

The second man was white, slim and about 5ft 9in.

He had blue eyes and blonde hair and was wearing black jogging bottoms, a black hooded top and black gloves.

Investigating officer, DC Daniel Adelsberg, said: “We are in the process of viewing CCTV footage but we believe the two men ran down an alleyway next to the shop.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen to the two men in the area at the time.”
