A fallen tree at Ringwould has blocked the road and motorists are being re-directed.

Police are on the scene and have closed the Deal to Dover Road at Ringwould.

Traffic leaving Deal can take the Ripple turn-off and follow the diversion coming out at Martin Mill and vice versa. However, this largely single-track route is very busy and motorists are advised to take a different route if possible.

Police have suggested it could take "several hours" to clear.

Stagecoach buses have been affected with delays to number 12 and 15 services.

The tree has also brought down power lines in Ringwould and National Grid is on the scene to assess the situation.

This comes as the county has been hit by strong winds, heavy rain and in some areas snow.
