Dover Athletic boss Nicky Forster feels criticism of his team has been unjustified

Dover manager Nicky Forster

Nicky Forster rounded on his team’s critics after Dover Athletic stepped up their Blue Square Bet South play-off bid with two wins in four days.

Forster’s side followed up Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Salisbury with a 2-1 success over high-flying Chelmsford City at Crabble on Tuesday night.

The two wins followed Whites’ double setback against play-off rivals Welling and Hythe Town in the Kent Senior Cup a week
earlier.

Manager Forster (pictured) said: "We are a team who have lost once in our last 12 league games and so for us to have come in for criticism was totally unjustified.

"In any other league they would be happy with that form and why people aren’t happy stumps me.

"No player goes out to lose a game a game of football and collectively we had a bad day at Hythe.

"We held our hands up after that but my job is to keep the boys’ heads up and they have responded with two big wins."
