Dancing in the rain at Music4Martha in support of Martha Trust at The Square, Deal

Downpours couldn't stop the music and dancing at a one day festival in aid of Martha Trust.

Held at outdoors entertainment area The Square in Deal with support from The King's Head The Port Arms and Dunkerley's, Music4Martha was another success for the Mercury's charity of the year on Sunday.

It boasted live entertainment by Bradley Bogus Holbrook, The Martellos, Your Shout, Lofty Harris and Pussyfoot.

Dancing performances by the Dean Academy for the Performing Arts (DAPA) showcased the best of the troup's talents, and inspired revellers to throw some shapes.

Martha Trust's fundraising and events officer Kerry Banks BEM thanked everyone who supported the event including sponsors, performers and visitors.

She added: “Despite torrential downpours throughout the day, Music4Martha carried on thanks to the fabulous work of Mark One Sound &Light to keep everything as dry as possible.

"The bands played on and the crowds kept dancing even in the rain.

"On behalf of our very special residents and staff at Martha, thank you all so much for your ongoing support.

"Together we have raised £3100 for our residents with profound disabilities".

Raffle winners not present at the draw will be called this week to arrange collection of prizes.

The date for next year has already been set for Sunday August 7, 2022.
