Dover came from behind to win at Eastleigh and lay down their Blue Square Bet South promotion credentials.

Calum Willock scored one goal and created two more as the Whites passed their toughest test of the season so far with flying colours.

Eastleigh, labelled title favourites by Dover manager Nicky Forster last week, struck the woodwork twice after surrendering an early lead. However, they were unable to conjure up an equaliser and the bookmakers now have Forster’s side shortest-priced to go up.

There were chances at both ends early on. Dover keeper Mitch Walker saved from Moses Ademola before Willock had his effort blocked by Jack Dovey.

On 19 minutes, Eastleigh went in front when Craig McAllister headed home from a free-kick.

Daryl McMahon then unleashed a shot which Walker did well to keep out but Dover steadied the ship. After Willock had seen a goal ruled out for offside, the former Ebbsfleet man did equalise on 32 minutes, converting Steven Thomson’s pass.

Willock turned provider two minutes before the interval, crossing for Ben May to side-foot Dover into the lead.

Eastleigh dominated after the break. Marvin Wlliams drew a smart save from Walker and McMahon’s shot glanced off the crossbar as the Whites clung onto their slender lead.

However, four minutes from time, Willock won possession and set up Billy Bricknell to make sure of the points with a low shot.
