Farnborough 4 Dover 1

Dover and Farnborough went into Saturday's clash level on points but the game itself was a more one-sided affair as the visitors, perhaps suffering from a post-FA Cup hangover, struggled to contain hat trick hero Bradley Bubb.

The Whites suffered a blow in the build-up to the match at the Rushmoor Stadium when captain Rob Gillman (pictured, right) failed a fitness test, leaving Adam Birchall to take the skipper's armband.

It took until the 37th minute for either side to break the deadlock and it was Farnborough who struck first - Bubb pouncing on a loose ball from a Daryl McMahon free kick that was almost headed in by Dover's Olly Schulz.

It was 2-0 two minutes later when Bubb tapped the ball past Whites keeper Ross Flitney following some excellent play by Kezie Ibe.

The visitors were handed a lifeline in the 57th minute when Harry Baker capitalised on a Steve Robinson error, swinging the ball into the Boro box towards the waiting Adam Birchall.

But they failed to build momentum and conceded a penalty with less than 20 minutes to go when Ibe was brought down in sight of goal by Schulz. Bubb stepped up and made no mistake, sending Flitney the wrong way for 3-1.

The home side added another four minutes from time with a well-worked move that set up striker Michael Malcolm for his first goal of the season.
