Fawlty Towers mayhem as curtain rises on production by Deal Amateur Dramatics group St Nicholas Players

An amateur dramatics group between Deal and Dover will perform two episodes of a hit TV sitcom made famous by John Cleese as a madcap hotel owner.

The curtain rises tonight (Thursday) on the mayhem and hysteria of Fawlty Towers for St Nicholas Players' latest production at Ringwould Village Hall.

There audiences will meet ranting and irrational Basil (George Hannah) his formidable and disapproving wife Sybil (Jemma Nash), forever pragmatic Polly (Carly Bednar) and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel (Nick Taylor) in what have become iconic episodes Basil the Rat and The Hotel Inspector.

Other cast members include: Chef (Lynn Archer) guest Mrs Higgins (Tina Lawrence), Inspector (Doug Greig) and restaurant diners (Jerry Swallow and Jane Smith).

Directed by Hedleigh Marsh, the farce will be shown over three nights between Thursday, November 21 and Saturday, November 23 from 7.30pm.
