The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for parts of Kent this morning.

High spring tides and a "small surge" are to blame for the flood risk to low-lying land and roads in east Kent.

The public and boat owners are warned to take precautions in tidal areas, but property is not expected to flood.

There are three alerts in place in Kent, covering Pegwell Bay, Deal, Sandwich, Dungeness, Hythe, Dymchurch, St Mary's Bay, Littlestone, Greatstone, New Romney and Romney Marsh.

The high tides are expected to continue into tomorrow afternoon.
