Power has been restored to homes in Deal after a fault in one of the town's sub-stations left them without electricity.

The affected homes were in the Mill Hill area. They lost their power after a fuse blew in the electricity sub-station in St Augustine's Road.

A UK Power Networks spokesman said: "At 10.57am on Wednesday, 54 customers in the St Richard’s Road area of Deal experienced an interruption to their power supplies because of a fault on the electricity distribution network.

"UK Power Networks engineers restored supplies.

"We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident."
