We always knew Solley’s Ice Cream was something to shout about, and now the firm has won another gong proving just that.

Solley’s Wild Strawberry & Cream ice cream has been awarded a coveted star in the Great Taste Awards 2015.

The accolade comes as the company celebrates 30 years of making the delicious Kentish ice cream at the family farm in Ripple, near Deal.

Judged by over 400 food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, producers and a host of food writers and journalists, Great Taste is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for specialty and fine food and drink.

“We know our Kentish ice cream is of the highest quality, but it’s great to hear that an industry-leading panel of experts agrees with us – especially in our 30th anniversary year” - Keith Morrison, director

Keith Morrison, director of Solley’s, said: “A Great Taste label is a badge of honour and a nationally-recognised hallmark of a wonderful tasting product, so we’re thrilled to have won a star for our Wild Strawberry & Cream ice cream.

Judges praised its “intense wild strawberry flavour and pleasant rich and creamy texture.”

It’s no wander it tastes so great. The food miles are kept to the bare minimum, with the milk they use coming from a neighbouring farm a mile away.

Now the Gold and Black logo can be added to Solley’s tubs, acting as a seal of confidence to customers.

Judges included Masterchef judge and restaurant critic Charles Campion, TV presenter and cook Aggie Mackenzie, Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn, Masterchef the Professionals finalist Adam Handling, food buyers from Harrods, Selfridges, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer.
