Inquest opened into man found in garden

An inquest has been opened into the death of Marc Brown, who was found badly injured in a back garden in Mongeham Road, Great Mongeham, on August 15.

The coroner was told Mr Brown, 23, of Church Lane, Deal, died in the intensive care unit of King’s College Hospital, London, on Thursday, August 21.

After being found injured in the garden, he was taken to William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, but later transferred to King’s.

The inquest was adjourned.

Shane Penfold, 19, a factory worker from Adelaide Road, Elvington, has appeared in court charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday.
