More than 300 vacancies will be on offer to job seekers of Dover and Deal come March.

A second jobs fair will be held at the town hall on Biggin Street, Dover, on March 7.

The event has been organised by Dover and Deal’s MP, Charlie Elphicke.

Last year's jobs fair was buzzing. Picture submitted by Charlie Elphicke.

The fair will run from 10am - 3pm with free admission.

Mr Elphicke said: “With the Economy growing again, firms are now looking to start hiring more staff.

“Introducing those looking to hire to those looking to work is the best way to drive down Dover and Deal’s unemployment rate even further.

“There are now fewer young people out of work than there were at the time of the election, but with so many young people still out of a job, there is much more to do.

“The fair won’t solve all those problems overnight, but I believe it will make a real difference to many people’s lives.

He added: “Last year we had people queuing for 15 minutes before the doors were due to open.

“People are keen to get back into work and, as a Member of Parliament, I consider it my duty to help them.” - MP Charlie Elphicke.

The job fair’s website demonstrates how popular this open event was, and is accompanied with a letter from Mr Elphicke.

It reads: “Dover is full of talented, aspirational people trying to get on the jobs ladder for the first time, looking for a new job or thinking about changing their career path.

“But taking that initial step isn’t always easy.

“The jobs fair gives local employers and jobseekers the opportunity to showcase themselves to one another in person without all the paperwork and online form-filling.”
