Kent Police is appealing for information after eight cars were vandalised across Sandwich.

Separate reports were made of vehicles being broken into overnight on Monday and Tuesday morning.

A small quantity of cash was stolen from an unlocked van at The Butts and a series of car windows were smashed on Upper Strand Street, Church Street, Princes Drive, and Strand Street.

A sat nav was stolen from an unlocked van in King Street and from a car in St Bart’s Road.

Another car window was smashed and cash taken from the glove box at Gazen Salts.

Kent Police is now investigating the spate of incidents and appealing for witnesses.

A spokesman said: “It is very rare to get a series of crimes like this in a small area. We would urge motorists not to leave any valuables in their cars and to engage car alarms where fitted.

“Anyone with information about who is responsible for these break-ins is asked to contact Kent Police on 101.

“Alternatively if you have information but would prefer to remain anonymous call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
