A Deal teenager who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent is embarking on his third tour with dance group Diversity.

Kieran Gaffney who came third in the ITV talent competition in 2010 for his drumming techniques, has once again teamed up with the famous team of street dancers.

The six-week tour called Up Close and Personal will start on Saturday, October 31, with the first performance at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena.

Kieran, 19, of Delane Road, Deal, is thrilled to be performing with Diversity, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

He said: “It’s really cool I’ve been asked to do all three tours with them. It’s really good experience as well. It builds my confidence with performing for thousands of people.

“I’m very good friends with Diversity. I get on really well with all of them. I love drumming with them. I was thinking drumming to dance, can you do it? But it works perfectly.”

The tour will see dates in Brighton, Southend, Reading, Ipswich, Liverpool, Sheffield and many more locations.

The former Walmer Science College pupil performed with the dance troupe in 2013 on their Limitless tour and again last year on their Limitless re-booted tour, which was held due to popular demand.

He received an invite for the first tour from leader of Diversity Ashley Banjo via Twitter.

He said: “Ash is such a motivational person. I think I’ve got a lot to think about but he’s got to think about all of it. He has to teach the boys the moves, work out the scenes and create the dance, and decide where he wants me to go. It’s awesome performing with the boys and it’s crazy how all this has come from Britain’s Got Talent.”

In the last year, he has also played drums with Diversity at Butlins across the UK.

On top of all this, he is also involved in east Kent band 909-90s, playing 90s hits around Deal and Thanet.

His parents, Sean and Mandy, first introduced him to playing live in their band Mixed Emotions several years ago.

Their band is still going strong and Kieran often goes to watch them perform with his girlfriend Laura.
