Nathan Anthony Cook from Deal charged after beer can attack

A man has been charged after a woman was left partially blind when a can of beer hit her in the face.

Nathan Anthony Cook, 20, of Hyton Drive, Deal, has been charged with causing Section 20 grievous bodily harm following the incident on New Year's Eve.

He has been released on bail until Wednesday, May 31 when he will appear before magistrates.

The incident took place during at a fireworks display in Deal on December 31.

Cora Mitchard, from Medway, suffered a serious injury to her eye after a beer can hit her in the face.

She had travelled to Deal to watch the show with fiance James Guthrie and another couple when the incident happened at about 10.40pm.

Following emergency surgery, she has been told she will only regain 5-15% of her sight in one eye.
