A 63-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Deal.

Officers were called to a property in Halliday Drive, Walmer at 10.20pm on Tuesday.

A woman, aged 67, was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

Alan Brough, of Halliday Drive, Walmer, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear before Medway magistrates today.

The suspect and alleged victim know each other, but their relationship has not been revealed.
