Three staff members from local charity Martha Trust will run Kent’s Coastal Half Marathon today (Sunday).

The team made up of Alice Moir, Jessica Messenger and Carol Baalham, who took up the challenge with a smile, are looking to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

They have already smashed their current fundraising target of £600 thanks to the support of friends, family and generous donors.

The 13 mile 192.5 yard race is out-and-back starting and finishing at The Oval in Margate.

Jessica Messenger, fundraising officer for Martha Trust said: “I hope the weather treats us kindly throughout the race. As fundraisers, we encourage the community to fundraise in aid of the charity so we thought it would be fun to challenge ourselves as we all like running. Perhaps a first step towards a marathon!”
