A Dover mother missing since the weekend has contacted her family to say she is on her way home.

Missing mum

A nationwide appeal was launched for Christine Chenery, who is 27, who was last seen in Dover on Friday and there were reports that her car had been seen in Cornwall.

Family and friends posted messages to her on the social networking site Facebook, urging her to get in contact and to return home.

Last night (Thursday) her father Trevor wrote on Facebook: "Thank you all, thank you. Our Christine has been in touch and is coming home. The front door is open and will remain open until she is home."

Ms Chenery has two young children and her friends described her on the social networking site as "a great friend and a wonderful mum."
