Police find drugs paraphernalia and unknown substance during raid in Orchard Avenue, Deal

Police discovered drugs paraphernalia and an unknown substance during the raid of a property in Deal yesterday.

Officers carried out the planned operation in Orchard Avenue throughout the morning, however no arrests were made.

Up to five police vehicles were been spotted in the road.

A resident, who would like not to be named, said officers used a red battering ram to enter the property.

She said: “They had sniffer dogs. They were in and out all morning. Then more and more came.”

A police spokesman said: “Police carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act in Orchard Avenue and discovered some drugs paraphernalia and an unknown substance.

"No arrests were made. Enquiries are continuing.”

Police have said the wider community should not be concerned.
