Police appeal for information after suspicious van fire in Deal

Police are treating an early hour van fire in Deal as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Canada Road at 1.11am today.

Quick intervention from fire crews ensured the flames from the white Vauxhall did not spread to a nearby property although substantial smoke and heat damage still occurred.

Firefighters were called to the van blaze about 1am (1941695)

Officers are now appealing for information to help with their investigation.

A spokesman said: "There were no reported injuries and no arrests have been made.

"The fire is currently being treated as suspicious.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 01843 222289 quoting reference 11-0050."
