Twenty new jobs will be created following the reopening of Solton Manor Estate this weekend.

The popular wedding venue in East Langdon near Dover is relaunching under new ownership following its closure in August 2017.

To mark the occasion, it will host a wedding fair from noon until 4pm on Sunday.

More than 20 wedding suppliers from Dover and Deal will set up stalls in the Dutch-lined barn on the estate.

The event is ahead of significant renovations which will prepare the site for the beginning of next year's wedding season starting in spring.

Changes will see the Grade II listed manor house made available for wedding hire for up to 100 guests. Couples and guests will also be able to stay in the 12 bedrooms on site.

The reopening will also see the appointment of 20 new staff members for waiting, planning and front of house staff.

Marketing manager Pippa Binham said: “We have been overwhelmed with positive comments from local people and previous brides of Solton Manor who are delighted to see this beautiful wedding and events venue reopening.

"It is a testament to the hard work of the previous owners of the fantastic reputation it has already gained.

"We will be hiring local people to work Solton Manor and with their help, we intend to foster and build on this reputation to become the premier wedding and events venue in the local area."
