Dover Mayor Cllr Ronnie Philpott has led the townspeople at the Remembrance Sunday service today.

Veterans, representatives of service organisations and people from throughout the area gathered at the town's war memorial for the service which included the two minutes silence at 11am.

The parade formed up in Biggin Street to march to the war memorial outside the Town Council offices where the service was conducted by the Mayor's chaplain the Rev Peter Sherred.

After service, wreaths were laid at the memorial in memory of all those who gave their lives in the two world wars, as well as other conflicts.

Those taking part then paraded through the town towards the Market Square, and the Mayor took the salute outside St Mary's Church.

Roads in the area were closed while the service took place.
