Nine-year-old Sofia Squire from Walmer gets A* in Italian GCSE

A very important text informed a nine-year-old from Walmer that she had obtained an A* in her Italian GCSE.

Sofia Squire, of Finch Mews, followed in her sister’s footsteps by taking the exam before she’s even reached secondary school.

Unable to pick up the results by hand because she’s on holiday with her family in Tenerife, she received the result by text.

Thumbs up! Nine-year-old Sofia Squire achieved an A* in her Italian GCSE

She told KentOnline: “I feel very happy and relieved.

“My parents said they’re both very proud of me and so is my sister.”

The St Mary’s Primary School pupil has been taught the language by her English-born mother Rosaria, whose mother is Italian.

Sofia Squire dedicated a little time every night to studying for the GCSE

She dedicated a little time every night to master the writing aspect and was hoping to achieve at least an A grade.

She is also keen gymnast at Deal Gym Club.
