Dover Athletic moved to within two points of the Blue Square Bet South summit after winning at Truro City on Tuesday night.

Nicky Forster's side extended their superb unbeaten away record over the past year with their second win on the road in four days, following Saturday's 2-1 success at Billericay.

In the first period, however, the bottom-of-the-table Cornish club were arguably the better side as Dover played into the teeth of a strong wind. But Whites defended stubbornly and then snatched an interval lead when Ben May bundled home a 38th-minute cross from Ricky Modeste.

Truro pushed forward in search of an equaliser in the second half, but it meant they left gaps at the back and, with 15 minutes left, Billy Bricknell made it 2-0 with his sixth goal in four games.

Substitute Calum Willcock, who came on at half-time in place of May after the striker picked up a groin injury, completed the scoring two minutes from time as Whites wrapped up their fourth successive victory.
