Firefighters attended two separate incidents in North Barrack Road in Walmer last night.

Two cars were set alight on North Barrack Road, Walmer last night, in two separate incidents.

Firefighters attended the first incident at 11.50pm, a silver Kia Picanto had been set on fire.

Firefighters managed to put the fire out and the car was left with minor damage.

They attended a second incident in the same road at 1.15am on Wednesday morning. The green Vauxhall Astra Estate targeted was completely torched.

Deal Fire Station watch manager Malcolm Cowie said: “By the time we got there, the Astra was absolutely gutted. It was a bad evening in North Barrack Road.”

Police were informed of the incident. They will be carrying out forensic tests and gathering evidence in the coming days.
