Vandals have damaged the replica Bronze Age boat in Dover.

The boat has been moved to a more secure location after someone caused damage to a tent covering it on the Roman Lawn, off Market Street.

They then made saw marks on the top planks on one side.

Kent Police are now investigating the vandalism to the boat - a replica of one built more than 3,500 years ago.

A campaign to raise funds to make the boat seaworthy so it can be taken to sea is to be launched on Monday, July 1.

The boat, which is half the size of the original, started to sink when it was first launched into the dock at Dover last year.

It has been made using similar tools and methods that the original Bronze Age craftsmen would have used.
