Woman rescued from bedroom blaze

A WOMAN was rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in the bedroom of her home in Middle Deal Road, Deal.

Fire crews had to use breathing apparatus to reach the woman about 10pm on Sunday.

Firefighter Gary Willis said: "The blaze was confined to the bedroom although not a great deal of damage was caused to the room.

"The woman breathed in quite a lot of smoke but she was talking to the control team throughout."

The woman, described as being in her mid-40s, was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for smoke inhalation.
