POLICE are still keen to speak to a young woman following a gun scare in Walmer, near Deal, last week.

It is believed a man at a window was waving a gun at the woman from a house in Liverpool Road, which sparked off a two-hour siege.

Surrounding roads were cordoned off, walkers were told to keep away and neighbours were advised to stay indoors.

Seven uniformed police were joined by members of the county's firearms unit and two hours after the alarm was raised a man in handcuffs was seen being led from the house.

He was arrested and later released on bail while police investigating the incident make further inquiries.

The house was searched but no weapon was found. No shots were heard and no-one was injured.

Officers are keen to speak to the young woman or anyone who can identify her. Phone 01304 240055.
