Yes or no to chippie on the pier?

A tasty-looking plate of fish and chips - but should it be served on Deal Pier?

Fish and chips is one of Britain’s great institutions.

Whether eaten with salt and vinegar, open or wrapped, with fingers or fork, the dish is accepted as a compulsory delicacy when visiting seaside towns.

But should the favourite be on the menu at Deal Pier’s new restaurant when the refurbishments are complete?

Telegraph Chippie owner Jasin Kaplin, the new leasee, plans to serve his speciality when he opens the new establishment towards the end of the year.

But a number of you have written to the Mercury saying the restaurant’s menu should be more modern to reflect the new design at the end of the pier.
