Deal Town’s season is over following their home FA Vase defeat on Saturday.

The Hoops were the only Southern Counties East Football League side left in the competition but were beaten by their Hellenic League visitors at the Charles Ground.

The match was streamed live for supporters as no fans were allowed in the ground because of Covid regulations.

Deal took a seventh minute lead in the third round tie thanks to a goal from Alfie Foster after converting an inswinging corner.

Binfield gradually worked their way into the match and equalised on 35 minutes through Josh Helmore. The match was level at the interval.

Goalkeeper James Tonkin was forced into a good double save early in the second half but Binfield took a 62nd minute lead with a goal from Sean Moore.

Oliver Harris extended the lead for the visitors with 15 minutes remaining and the same player added a fourth in stoppage-time, curling a shot into the top corner.

With the SCEFL season over, that’s it now for Deal's stop-start 2020/21 campaign.

Deal: Tonkin, Paxman, Hark, Foster, Smith, Scott, Reeves (Coyne), Murray, Chapman, Munday (Lewis), Howard. Subs not used: Penny, Jones, O’Brien, Hollier.
