Manager Chris Kinnear admitted to frustration after Whites suffered a fourth straight Skrill South defeat but maintained that his new-look team will eventually gel.

The 1-0 defeat at Sutton on Tuesday was Dover’s second in three days and fifth in six games – leaving them 15th in the table – although more worrying is their record of just five goals scored in their eight games.

Kinnear remained bullish, however, and said: “We are not disgracing ourselves in games, we just need a little bit of luck and to start taking our chances.

“We are not far away. I watched back the DVDs of all our games this week and with the exception of the Whitehawk game – which we actually won – we have created the majority of chances in every game.”

Kinnear did, though, reveal he is considering bringing in reinforcements to his forward line, adding: “Tom Murphy has scored two but the other three haven’t got a league goal between them.

“We need them to start scoring but we are having a look around to see if there’s anyone out there that might be able to come in and make a difference for us.”

Kinnear has injury problems ahead of the trip to Bath City on Saturday with Tom Wynter (calf), Terrell Forbes (hamstring), Ricky Modeste (calf) and Moses Ademola (ankle) all set to be assessed at training.

Lloyd Harrington could miss the whole season with cruciate ligament damage sustained last month.
