Bradley Love won the 66kg category in the 13-14 year age group

YOUNG Kent judo ace Bradley Love has retained his place in the Great Britain junior squad after an excellent display in the Heart of England Championships at Birmingham.

The Walmer Science College pupil won the 66kg category in the 13-14 year age group, a weight category one up from the section he normally fights in.

He won his opening contest with ippon, the maximum score, and then powered through to the final where he again won with ippon. This latest success means Bradley, from Deal, is now ranked No 1 in the UK in his age group weight category.

He trains at the Thanet and Dartford judo clubs under coach Travers Squire.
