Robbie Taylor from Dover and Sandwich’s Dan Warman both won silver medals fishing for England in the world junior and youth sea angling championships at Castellefels, near Barcelona in Spain.

The Fox-sponsored England Youth team of Taylor, Paul Lingham, Neil Hargreaves, Ollie Hopkins and Scott Hesling finished second behind Spain, with Taylor finishing England’s top individual performer in eighth place.

In the Junior event the England team of Warman, Jamie Morgan, Callum Graham and Steven Rathbone again finished second behind Spain. Warman, a 15-year-old pupil at Sandwich Technology School, finished fourth in the individual section.

The England Junior team manager was Steve Allmark of Channel Angling in Deal, and he said: "The England juniors were the youngest team in the championships and their performance is encouraging for the future."
