Ross Smith's Scottish Open ended before it began last week after the former Dover Invitation League player was taken ill on the trip to Renfrew.

Smith, 20, made his BDO World Championship debut at Lakeside in January but lost in the second round of the Dutch Open at the beginning of February and was keen to restore some confidence.
