Southern Counties East round-up: Honours even between Deal Town and Phoenix Sports while leaders Erith & Belvedere get back on track

There was no separating Deal Town and Phoenix Sports in a top-of-the-table Southern Counties East Premier Division clash at the Charles Ground.

Alfie Evans gave second-placed Phoenix a half-time lead Riley Alford levelled just past the hour mark in a 1-1 draw.

Leaders Erith & Belvedere moved six points clear after a first win in four matches.

They won 3-1 at Welling Town with Danny Lear scoring twice in the last 20 minutes after Anthony Adesite’s opener was cancelled out by Town man Dami Olusesi.

Two goals from Steadman Callender gave fourth-placed Erith Town a 2-1 win over Bearsted, who replied through Ollie Freeman’s second-half penalty.

Josh Oliver scored twice inside seven minutes as Whitstable beat Holmesdale 2-0 to move up to fifth.

They climbed above Rusthall, who suffered a third successive defeat after an early own goal saw them edged by Hollands & Blair.

All the goals came in the second half, with Max Sutton, Mo Cham and Elliott Moore leading Kennington to a 3-0 win over Fisher.

Trevor McCreadie’s late double gave Tunbridge Wells a 2-0 victory at Lordswood.

Jayden Hussain and two goals from Will Johnson-Cole earned a 3-1 home win for Punjab United against struggling K Sports. Richard Jimoh grabbed a late consolation.

Harry Arnold cancelled out Jamie Philpot’s opener as bottom side Canterbury drew 1-1 at home to Glebe.

Arlie Desanges’ double and goals from Conor Evans and Neil Spencer gave Sutton Athletic a 4-2 win at Stansfeld.

Rob Hughes and Callum Keeble were the hosts’ scorers.

Ted Rosetti scored the only goal in the opening minute as Division 1 leaders Snodland won at Lewisham Borough.
