SIX youngsters from East Kent have been selected to represent England in next April's world junior angling championships in Almeria, Spain (Alan Yates writes).

Tom Wells (Deal), Gavin Smith (Dover) and Michael Barnes (Dover) have been chosen for the 16 to 21-year-old team, and Deal trio Brett Cotter, Nathan Evans and Louie Smith will compete in the Under-16 section.

Deal pier tackle dealer Steve Allmark, from Dover, team manager of the 16-21s, said: “There are only five places available in each team, and the fact we have got three in each shows how strong junior angling is in this part of the country.”
