POLICE investigating an assault on a 16-year-old girl while she was riding her moped have released an e-fit of the offender.

Members of the girls's family, who live in Dover, are offering a reward of £1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender.

The attack happened at about 11.20 pm on Friday, August 26, after the girl had just turned right from St James Street, Dover, into Castle Hill Road, going up the hill towards the castle.

A man walked into the middle of the road and punched the girl in the head. It caused her to collide with several parked vehicles, and come off her bike.

There were a number of people walking down Castle Hill Road who looked as if they were dressed to go clubbing.

The offender is described as a white man of stocky build and about 5ft 8in tall. He is thought to be aged between 22-26. He had a haven head and was wearing a dark coloured sleeveless T-shirt.

Anyone who recognises the offender is asked to contact PC Julian Pegler on 01304 240055.
