40 firefighters tackle pub blaze

A PUBLIC house in a Kent village has been badly damaged by fire.

Fire crews were called to The Bell Inn at Shepherdswell, near Dover, just after 10.30pm on Wednesday night. At the height of the blaze around 40 firefighters were at the scene.

Some had to use breathing apparatus to enable them to tackle the flames, but no-one was injured. The cause is being investigated.
