A Deal youngster has relived the moment the singer Adele invited her onto the stage in front of thousands of people at a concert.

Starstruck Jasmine Craigen, 12, of Bruce Close, went with her mother Donna to the O2 Arena in London yesterday.

The Sir Roger Manwood's student had been waving her banner - a scribble on a restaurant napkin beforehand - to capture the singer's attention throughout the two hour show.

Her message said: "Can I have a selfie? I am only 12."

Towards the end, during the encore performance at about 10pm, Jasmine was picked to go up on stage.

Posing together, Jasmine managed to get the selfie she had been asking for.

She said: "It was really shocking, it was like, wow, really good.

"She asked me where I live and if I was a fan of her and her music.

"I didn't really notice the crowds it was all just in the moment."

It was only last Wednesday that Mrs Craigen, 45, was able to get tickets, when more were released online.

The £95 tickets got them prime seats, just a block from the front, in full view of the star who performed over two stages.

Mrs Craigen said she waded through the crowds with her daughter, who was lifted over the security barrier and onto the stage.

The midday supervisor at The Downs Primary School said: "Everytime she (Adele) turned around Jasmine waved her banner throughout the night.

"Jasmine was so calm - when she got on stage she did a selfie facing the front."

"All of that, in a day's work," she said.

Jasmine said that Adele is one of her favourite singers, but admitted that she loves music and enjoys singing herself.

The video of her appearance, shot by her mother, has been seen more than 2,000 times on Facebook.

Jasmine said: "All my friends said that are so jealous.

"She was really nice and really good.

"Thank you Adele, it was a great honour to meet you."
