Police are appealing for information after two men tried to snatch a bag from a woman in Dover.

A 21-year-old woman was walking along Beaconsfield Road towards the junction with London Road at 8.40pm on Tuesday March 31.

She was opposite the car wash when two men approached from London Road and one of them grabbed her carrier bag and tried to pull it from her, causing her to fall to the ground.

The men then ran off down Beaconsfield Road empty-handed.

Both men were white, around five feet seven inches to five feet eight inches tall, and were wearing grey hooded tops and grey bottoms.

Police would like to trace two black men who came to the woman’s assistance, as they may be important witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Melissa Avory on 01304 240055, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
