Two people arrested in connection with theft of Victorian blocks from English Heritage site Western Heights

Two people have been arrested in connection with the theft of Victorian wooden floor blocks from the Western Heights fort in Dover.
Kent Police received a report that a number of timber blocks went Monday, February 23 and Friday, February 27 at the north end of the tunnels.
The cubes are about six inches long could have been coated with an arsenic preservative which is a typical way of treating wood in the Victorian era.
A 51-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Dover, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of theft.
They have been bailed until Monday, April 20 pending further investigations.
